Alexander Faustov

Alexander Alexandrovich Faustov — Candidate Master of Sports of the USSR in Mountaineering, instructor-methodologist. He began mountaineering in 1973. He started with a tourism circle, then came to training under P.I. Sadovnichenko. In 1977, he graduated from the School of Instructors under V.V. Bezzubkin. He took part in rescue operations, including on Pobeda Peak, Korzhenevskaya Peak, and others. During the hostilities in Afghanistan, he was an instructor of mountain training in 1981.

He completed numerous routes of the 5th grade of difficulty, including the 5th Tower of Korona (southwestern face), the traverse of the six towers of Korona, the first ascents of Semenov-Tyan-Shansky Peak and Dzhigit Peak. As a leader, he participated in the traverse of Festivalnaya Peak (4,695 m) – Slonyonok Peak (4,797 m) (grade 5B, 1979). In 1982–1985, he headed the "Instrumentalshchik" section. He ascended Lenin Peak (7,134 m), Korzhenevskaya Peak (7,105 m), and Communism (Somoni) Peak (7,495 m). Holder of the "Rescue Team" badge.
