Yulia Shubina

Yulia Ivanovna Shubina (Shchetinina) — Master of Sports of the USSR in Mountaineering, 1st-category instructor-methodologist, artist, teacher of fabric painting at the Chuikov Art College. In mountaineering since 1948, a student of Borivoy Marechek. At training camps she met the mountaineer-artist Afanasy Shubin. Participant in the first ascent of Svobodnaya Koreya Peak (4,777 m) from the south side (1952). She worked for a long time as an instructor in various mountaineering camps. In 1974 she ascended Lenin Peak (7,134 m).
