Asel Baibagysheva

Asel Raikonovna Baibagysheva — Master of Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic in Mountaineering, "Snow Leopard", the first woman of Kyrgyzstan to summit Everest. In mountaineering since 2016. Her first summit was Uchitel Peak (4,530 m). Within the framework of the annual "Red Fox Elbrus Race" festival in 2019, she ascended Elbrus (5,642 m). In the same year she climbed Lenin Peak (7,134 m). In 2020 – a winter ascent of Belukha Peak (4,509 m, Altai). In 2021 she ascended Khan Tengri Peak (6,995 m), performing work with the "Ak-Say Travel" team on fixing fixed ropes and setting up high-altitude camps. In the same year she repeated her ascent of Lenin Peak.

In 2022 she made her first eight-thousander – Manaslu (8,163 m). In 2024, while working as part of the "rope-fixing team", she spent 4 nights at an altitude of 6,900 m below Khan Tengri (95 m from the summit). The goal was not an ascent but the fixing of ropes on the climbing route. Then came an ascent of Pobeda Peak. In May 2025 – the summit of Everest (8,848 m). Asel Baibagysheva became the first woman from Kyrgyzstan to stand on the highest point on Earth. In the summer of the same year, as part of the "rope-fixing team", she ascended Korzhenevskaya (Ozodi) Peak (7,105 m), and immediately after – Communism (Somoni) Peak (7,495 m). Thus the requirements for the title "Snow Leopard" were fulfilled.
