Leonid Dyadyuchenko

Leonid Borisovich Dyadyuchenko — mountaineer, Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR, Union of Journalists of the USSR, Union of Cinematographers of the Kirghiz SSR, Honoured Cultural Worker of Kyrgyzstan. Leonid's brother, Andrei, was the founder of the "Nauka" Trade-Union Sports Society club, to which Afanasy Shubin was invited as an instructor. As a member of this section, Andrei became a participant in first ascents in Ala-Archa: Scriabin Peak (4,753 m) and Semenov-Tyan-Shansky Peak (4,895 m).

Leonid himself, a geologist by education, visited various parts of Kyrgyzstan on geological expeditions and took part in ascents. Author of books about the mountains: "What is She, Pobeda?", "There Will Be No Return", "Without Need to Zardalyu", "Wait for an Answer", and many others. Leonid was also a scriptwriter for feature and documentary films, an editor at the "Kyrgyzfilm" studio, a correspondent for the newspaper "Soviet Kirghizia", and a staff member of the magazine "Literary Kyrgyzstan". A friend of all mountaineers, Leonid devoted himself to the mountains not through personal ascents, but through poetry and prose.
