Section "Polytechnik" (The Polytechnic)

Founded in 1969 by Anatoly Tustukbaev. At its peak, Polytechnik was the largest mountaineering club in the entire republic and organized expeditions to 7,000-meter peaks.

Achievements

At its peak, "Polytechnik" was the largest mountaineering club in the entire republic. The club organized expeditions to 7,000-meter peaks (Peak Lenin, Peak Communism, Peak Korzhenevskaya) and many other summits.

Later fate

In 1976, a split occurred, and some climbers moved to the "SKIF" club (led by F. Popov).

In 1982, "Polytechnik" merged with "Selmashievets" (led by Valery Denisov).

In 1997, after a period of stagnation, Alexander Gubayev, together with F. Popov, revived the section under the new name "SKIF-Polytechnik".
